The Pig & Whistle Offers a Great Place to Stay, Eat and Drink in Cartmel. We are based in The Peninsula of The South Lakes with the shores of ' Morecambe Bay' and 'Lake Windemere' a short distance away.
Cartmel being known for it's famous Sticky Toffee Pudding, The Priory Church and with events such as The Cartmel Races and the Lakeland Show means the village still thrives on it's close community and the welcoming friendliness of the locals. You will find a truely traditional English Pub with warm welcome and a cosy fireplace (especially for the cold days). With great conversation amongst all folk you'll soon find yourself feeling comfortable and at home.
Recently The Pig & Whistle has undergone a total refurbishment. Re-vamping the Guest Rooms and Bistro.
Our unique south facing 'Beer Garden' with its wonderful open views of the surrounding countyside has also undergone a transformation making it a wonderful place to relax from dawn till dusk. During shows and events we also offer an outside bar and barbecue... (summertime only). Why not ask us about hiring it for that special party or barbecue?
We offer a great value Menu that is most importantly 100% homemade it soon gives you the full feel of how we do everything in keeping as traditional and homely as we can..Our two double dining rooms away from the bar 'SNUG' and 'BISTRO' make the perfect setting to celebrate that specail occasion or just enjoy a meal with family or friends.Also available for hire.
